Good evening people!
I have this great friend, Jahnavi and she is like the best person you should know to get awesome food in the good old locality of Malleshwaram in Bangalore. I have been a fan of Malleshwaram for a while and today, she has made me appreciate Malleshwaram even more.
We met up for breakfast and had planned to go to a place called CTR which is Central Tiffin Room on Margosa Road famous for its Masala Dosa's but as we stepped out of her place, she was like let us go to another place for Idli & Vada. I was fine with the idea. A beautiful cool cloudy morning was perfect for a walk to Sri Raghavendra Stores. This little place of maybe 8feet by 8feet churns out amazing butter soft fluffy idlies and perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside vadas served with only a coconut chutney, no sambar. They also have Khara Bhaat and some other items including coffee.
Located just outside Malleshwaram Railway Station on the 11th Main. There is no seating available, just stand on the road and eat. You could however sit on the steps of the stores on the opposite side. You can however be sure that your food is safe as you are served in a steel plate. This place opens as early as six thirty in the morning and the weekly holiday is Tuesday. One plate of two idlies, one vada and a bowl full of chutney is Rs.24, i was pretty full with one plate of idli/vada as I had a little to eat earlier but i sure cannot eat more than two plates!
Any of you visiting Malleshwaram early in the morning, i recommend this place for a perfect South Indian breakfast! Thank you Jahnavi!
